Developing yourself and staying up to date with what’s happening at Vetico is now easier than ever for colleagues. The new Vetico App brings together all training courses and e-learning modules, as well as the latest news. As project manager, Nienke Verhoeven guided the development and launch of the app. The Learning & Development specialist explains more.
Nienke, what exactly is the app for?
“The Vetico App is our new learning management system (LMS) and internal communication platform in one. It’s a really strong combination! Employees can find everything related to training and e-learning there, while also staying up to date with the latest news. It’s simply enjoyable to log in!”
Why is this app important?
“Vetico is growing rapidly. That created a need for more structure in learning and development. The app allows Vetico to organize, track, and embed this much more effectively. The results are immediately visible for quality and safety requirements as well. The app also makes it easier to communicate with all employees. This was quite a challenge especially with temporary workers. Now they, too, have good access to information.”
“Finally, the app was developed with the future in mind. Our people – now and in the years ahead – are used to fast, mobile communication. This app fits that perfectly: everything is accessible via your smartphone.”
in Dutch, English, or Polish”
What exactly do employees find in the app?
“They can take online training courses, for example, or enroll in classroom-based programs. News is shared the Vetico way: approachable and informal. Think a shout-out for a work anniversary, an invite to an event, or photos from the family day. And the best part? Everything is tailored to you. Colleagues only see what’s relevant to them, in Dutch, English, or Polish.”
How do you look back on the launch?
“It was a great success! We supported employees at nine locations with downloading and registration. And of course, we brought cake. After the go-live, we launched our first e-learning module: the VIP Training, which stands for Safety in Production. Within one day, 150 people completed it. A fantastic result.”
How have colleagues themselves responded?
“The numbers really speak for themselves: they’re enthusiastic. It helps that we chose the KISS approach: keep it simple and structured. So we didn’t roll out eighteen training courses at once. Some functionalities are still switched off as well. That way, everyone can get used to it gradually.”
What makes this project special for you?
“The culture at Vetico is refreshingly hands-on. From day one, agreements were honored. From defining requirements and selecting the supplier, KnowL Solutions, to building accessible e-learning content and testing everything: each step was completed within the agreed timeframe. And now they’re continuing to push forward with further development.”
Tell us: what are the plans?
“Right now, Vetico is developing learning pathways for production. These focus on machine and system knowledge, as well as soft skills like communication and leadership. Language development is also a priority, as our factories are home to twelve different nationalities.”
Do clients benefit from this as well?
“Absolutely! Vetico secures learning outcomes and, with that, its license to operate. But it goes further than that. The Vetico App is a tool that supports the broader ambition to help people feel at home here and grow. And as people grow, Vetico grows as a company too. That’s something all our partners ultimately notice.”
