Visitors at Interpack will be the first in the world to see the new FMP 80 from SN Maschinenbau in action — a pouch machine that combines high speed, exceptional flexibility, and the ability to process recyclable mono-materials. After the show, the machine will be relocated to Vetipak in Oss. This highlights the shared ambition of SN Maschinenbau, Vetipak, and Packaging Partners: to accelerate innovation and make cost leadership achievable.
At Interpack, Vetipak (Oss), Packaging Partners (Tilburg), and SN Maschinenbau (Wipperfürth, Germany) will present themselves as a unified entity. Their collaboration goes beyond a traditional customer-supplier relationship. “We operate as a tightly integrated partnership,” says Mark van der Burgt, CCO of Vetipak. “We test and innovate together and act as an extension of each other when it comes to specialized expertise.”
That close collaboration translates directly into practice. Vetipak positions itself as a one-stop shop — from technical design and material selection through to production and delivery. The arrival of the FMP 80 (the seventh horizontal pouch machine for Vetipak) fits perfectly within this strategy of continuous investment in automation and further optimization of cost efficiency.
Why You’ll Want to See This Machine
The FMP 80 has been developed for maximum flexibility and is designed to handle new, more sustainable materials. Key highlights include an output of up to 200 pouches per minute and fast format changeovers in under 20 minutes. “Thanks to its modular design and broad applicability — from dry to wet applications — the machine responds to the growing demand for efficient, scalable production,” says Olaf Clemens, President/CEO of SN Maschinenbau.
“This is more than just a technological upgrade for us,” Van der Burgt adds. “It’s a next step toward cost leadership. By continuing to invest in automation and capacity, we create room to serve customers faster, more efficiently, and at lower cost.”
combined in one packaging solution.”
Recyclable Without Compromise
A key focus within the collaboration is material innovation. At Interpack, the partners will demonstrate the processing of three-layer PP mono-material into recyclable stand-up pouches with a zipper closure. Packaging Partner Director Rob Daniels explains: “The structure of the packaging is well thought out: a sealable inner layer, a functional barrier layer, and a printable outer layer for a premium look.”
Daniels continues: “Despite this layered structure, it remains a single material type, enabling full recyclability. At the same time, product protection remains at a high level, without deformation during the sealing process. Challenging? Absolutely. But impossible? That’s not something you’ll hear us say anytime soon. This is what you can achieve when you combine expertise and innovation — and keep challenging each other.”
From Trade Show Floor to Production
The fact that the FMP 80 will first be showcased at Interpack and only then installed in Oss speaks volumes. “The trade show serves as the launch platform for this production line, which we will put into operation immediately afterward,” says Van der Burgt. “And even beyond that, our approach remains the same: keep investing, keep innovating, and keep raising the bar together with our partners. That way, we ensure that not only today, but also tomorrow, our customers have access to the latest technology.”
