At Vetico, we make no secret of our desire to grow. And that doesn’t stop at just being ambitious: we are really putting our money where our mouth is. One of the steps we are taking is to appoint recruiter Sandra van Dijk. She has the critical task of finding new colleagues who will help us to achieve our intended growth.
As an expert in her field, Sandra is the right person for the job when it comes to recruiting new Vetico employees. “After several years in tourism, I changed direction and entered job placement”, says Sandra. “In one of my previous positions, I worked for six years at Michael Page, a leading global recruitment specialist. That’s where I learned about this field. And for the past year now, I’ve been putting my knowledge and experience to work for the companies operating under the Vetico banner.”
Elevating recruitment
Sandra has a very clear main task: to implement strategic workforce planning. To achieve this, she is working on several subprojects. “One of these is aimed at elevating internal recruitment”, she explains. “This means I’m hard at work improving processes and setting up systems for following up job applications rapidly and professionally. In addition to this, colleagues – such as a plant manager – don’t just simply share their annual plan. Instead, we work together to develop pathways. We determine who we are looking for, which assessments are necessary, and what procedures will look like. After all, the current tight labor market makes it essential to act quickly and professionally.”
but also in collegiality’’
Attractive employer
“Another task is to enhance Vetico’s attractiveness as a rapidly growing, decisive and innovative employer,” Sandra continues. “For this purpose, we commissioned an internal investigation aimed at answering the question: why should a candidate choose us? The investigation revealed that there is a culture of openness, cooperation and a strong sense of family at Vetico. So we stand out not only in technology, but also in collegiality. This provides me with more compelling evidence that helps me to promote Vetico as an employer.”
New colleagues: from IT manager to CFO
While Sandra is working on boosting recruitment quality, she is also seeking (and finding) new employees. The list of new colleagues is worth noting. “The previous CFO resigned on the day that I started here. This meant I was immediately presented with a considerable challenge, but I really enjoyed that. We have found an excellent successor in the form of Bob de Nijs. Other important positions have also been filled, including for a plant manager, IT manager and sales manager, and mechanics and supervisors.”
Plans for 2025
Sandra now has her sights firmly set on 2025, and has plenty of plans for this year. “I want to raise Vetico’s profile as an employer even more, not only online and on social media, but also at job fairs, schools and open days. We actually have about forty to fifty vacancies to fill next year. I particularly want to raise our profile locally for the vacancies for operators and mechanics.”
Sandra concludes, “The greatest challenge is finding enough operators, because competition is fierce right now. All the more reason to further improve recruitment at Vetico and broaden our appeal. Onwards and upwards!”
